about
i am an interdisciplinary artist, born in Kıbrıs and currently based in Bournemouth, focusing on conceptual installation works and often deriving ideas and inspiration from human connection and communication to display introspective understandings of identity while consistently experimenting and expanding my range of mediums and materials.
through organic manipulations of materials and constant use of texture, braiding as a medium of making and silent resistance currently stands to be the main component of my works. i draw inspiration from my own culture, traditions and upbringing alongside conversations i have with people, trans inclusionary, radical intersectional feminist theories, past and current political landscapes, the invisibility of women’s craft and intergenerational transferable skills within communities; everything which affects me is revealed through what i make.
